Mary Lee Ramey, age 90, of Shelby, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 17, 2014 at the Crystal Care Center in Mansfield.
Mary was born February 27, 1924 in Paintsville, Kentucky the daughter of the late Joseph and Ada (Conley) Click. On March 2, 1946 she married George A. Ramey who preceded her in death in 1990.
Mary was a former employee of Isleys and AMF in Shelby. The majority of her working career was in the housekeeping department at Shelby Memorial Hospital. She was a member of the Bellville Freewill Baptist Church and followed the Lord for over 60 years. Mary enjoyed quilting, sewing, doing jigsaw puzzles and playing games with her family.
She is survived by a son: George Roger Ramey of Mansfield; 4 daughters: Jannie (Philip) Smith of Shelby, Vickie (Jerry) Rose of Mansfield, Delorse (Danny) Moore of Raceland, KY and Kathy (Tim) Stevens of Shelby; 16 grandchildren: Richard, Paul, Trina , Scott, Machelle, Virginia Sue, Dwayne, Bridget, Joey, Tammy, Brian, Kris, April, Jerry, Anthony and Nathaniel;
37 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren and they are patiently waiting one more. In addition to her husband, Mary was preceded in death by: a daughter: Virginia Severns; 4 grandsons: Donald Adkins, Michael Severns, Jim Moore and John Moore; a great grandson: Austin Smith; 2 sons-in-law: Wayne Heintz and Max Severens;11 siblings: Elzie Click, Amos Click, Jerry Click, Leonard Click, Henry Eugene Click, Merle Click, Malta Caudill, Maxie Caudill, Okie Conley, Rushie Spears, and Neva Jo Blanton.

Richard A. “Rick” Landis, age 69, of Ashland, died Monday, April 14, 2014 at the Cleveland Clinic.
Rick was born February 19, 1945 in Shelby the son of the late Richard E. and Harriette A. (Stover) Landis. He was a 1963 graduate of Shelby High School and a 1968 graduate of Ohio University with a bachelor’s degree in business administration. He was the general accounting manager at Hubbel (Ohio Brass) in Mansfield, retiring from the Wadsworth, Ohio facility. He and his wife, Ellie, are members of Grace Brethren Church in Ashland where he was involved with various ministries. Rick loved to travel, especially to Alaska and Hawaii where he enjoyed whale watching.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Eloise “Ellie” (Tackett) Landis of Ashland; 3 siblings: Terry (Vicki) Landis of Atwater, OH, David (Nancy) Landis of Fall River, MA, Jean Ann (Michael) Viers of Shelby; 3 Aunts: Alma (Bill) Brooks of Shelby, Lillian Stover of MI, Martha Stover of Crestline; nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews whom he adored and they equally adored him. He was preceded in death by his father in 1981, his mother in 2013, and a nephew, Adam Viers, in 2001.

Anthony R. “Tony” Fox, age 73, of Mansfield, died Sunday, April 13, 2014 at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus.
Tony was born August 12, 1940 in Bucyrus, the 15th child of the late Paul and Marie (Beran) Fox. He retired after 33 years of services at Timken Roller Bearing in Bucyrus. Following his retirement, Tony worked part time at Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home in Bucyrus. He was a member of Crossroads Community Church in Mansfield, Bucyrus Moose, and was the president and very active member of the Johnny Appleseed Wood Carvers. Tony loved to carve. After 9 -11 he devoted most of his carvings to eagles. A conservative estimate of his eagle carvings, which are all shapes and sizes, would be over 3000.
Tony is survived by his wife, DeLayne “Dee” (Lantz) Fox, whom he wed on July 30, 1996;
4 children: Alena Fox, Bernadette Widman, David Fox, Eunice (Pat) Collene all of Bucyrus; 2 step children: Kevin (Melissa) Fidler of Butler and Kelly Fidler of Chesapeake, VA; 7 grandchildren: Mitchell Widman, Malynne Widman, Zachary Fox, Katelyn Fox, Caleb Fox, Phillip Collene, Olivia Collene; a great grandchild: Daven Fox; 3 step grandchildren: Micaela Fidler, MacKenzie Fidler, Hadyn Fidler; 4 brothers: Tom (Susan) Fox of Findlay, Don (Ruth) Fox of Bucyrus, Dick Fox of Santa Fe, NM, Carl Fox of Peebles.

Thelma M. Humphrey, age 96, of Shelby, died Sunday, April 6, 2014 at the Crestwood Care Center in Shelby.
Thelma was born November 13, 1917 in Washington County, Ohio, the daughter of the late Thurman and Edna M. (Kidd) Taylor. She and her first husband, Carl Chamblin, were dairy farmers in Monroe County for a number of years. She was proud to have been able to milk 14 cows, by hand, by herself. Thelma was a member of Bartlett United Methodist Church in Bartlett, Ohio.
Thelma is survived by: a step-son: Ralph Humphrey of Shelby; 2 daughters-in-law: Grace Chamblin of Beallsville and Cecile Humphrey of Akron; 5 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; 5 step-grandchildren; 9 step-great grandchildren; a brother: Eric Taylor of Marietta; a sister: Wilma Johnson of Tennessee. Rayman E. Mollencopf, age 72, of Tiro, died Thursday, April 3, 2014 at his home.
He was born June 16, 1941 in Bucyrus, the son of the late Percy and S. Leona (Borts) Mollencopf. Ray served his country in the United States Army. A hard worker, Ray farmed and worked at the Timken Roller Bearing Plant in Bucyrus for 30 years. After his retirement he drove a propane truck for Country Star. He was a member of Calvary United Church of Christ in Crestline where he was serving on the consistory. He was a former Auburn Township Trustee and was a member of the Crawford County Farm Bureau. Ray loved to go fishing and spending time with his granddaughters.
Rayman is survived by his wife, Carol (Phenicie) Mollencopf. They would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on October 3 of this year. Also surviving are his children: Christina (Joseph) Miller of Shiloh and Randall Mollencopf of Crestline; 3 granddaughters: June, Joy and Jamie Miller; a brother: Floyd (Liz) Mollencopf of Galion; a brother-in-law: Donald (Jane) Phenicie of New Washington; a sister-in-law: Maxine Phenicie; several nieces and nephews. Jack Franklin Stickney, age 91, formerly of Shelby, and recently of Masonic Home in Springfield, OH died Monday, March 31, 2014 at Springfield Regional Medical Center.
He was born January 15, 1923 in Shelby, the son of the late Dale and Madonna Gail (Billman) Stickney. Jack was a 1940 graduate of Shelby High School and served his country in the Merchant Marines in WWII. Jack had several careers throughout his lifetime. He was the former owner of the Sinclair Gas on West Main Street, owned and operated a truck, distributing 7-UP and then later Pepsi and had been a State Farm Insurance agent for many years.
He was an active member of Trinity United Methodist Church where he served on various committees and was instrumental in building the new church. He was a member of the Shelby Masonic Lodge 350 F&AM where he was Past Master, Shelby Chapter 178 where he was Past High Priest, 32 degree Mason in Valley of Columbus, Aladdin Shrine and Shelby Shrine Club. He enjoyed volunteering and donated his time as president of the Shelby Little League and transporting children and their families to the Shriners Children’s Hospital. Jack also enjoyed playing card, gardening, fishing and working crossword and jigsaw puzzles.
Jack is survived by his wife, Ruth (Hollenbaugh) Stickney of Springfield; his children: Marva Jo (William) Victor of Montrose, CO, Patti Ann (George) Wright of Beaufort, SC, and Edward Douglas Stickney, a resident of the Veterans Home of California in Yountville, CA; 2 grandchildren: Cari (Jeffrey) Gallant of Beaufort and Jeffrey Wright of Beaufort; 3 great grandchildren: Deidre, Alexis, and Haley; a brother: Kenneth Stickney of Georgia; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother: Cecil “Pete” Stickney and a sister: Reatha Lake.

Stewart Parker Hawk, II, age 53, of Shelby, died unexpectedly Wednesday, March 26, 2014 at Inova Fairfax Hospital in Falls Church, VA.
Stew was born January 15, 1961, the son of the late Stewart Parker and Carol (Buser) Hawk. He was a 1979 graduate of Jefferson Area High School in Jefferson, Ohio. Stew had received education from a few different places following high school including Kent State University, Columbus State, Hondoros College where he received a certification in Life, Health, and Variable Annuities, and Roadmaster Truck Driving School where he earned his Class A CDL. He had been in direct to consumer sales for 25 years and more recently was involved with internet marketing. He was the Vice President of Shelby Vinyl Products, LLC, worked for On-Dekk Transportation and had worked for Express-1 Expedited Solutions and U.S. Vinyl Technologies. Stew’s LinkedIn page summary exemplifies him well, “Philosopher, Visionary, Singer/Songwriter, Siding Man.”
Stew is survived by his sister: Cheryl Hawk of Shelby; uncle and aunt: Ben and Mary Buser of Sandusky; and many cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Jean “Choppy” (Moser) Holmes, age 81, of Shiloh, died Tuesday, March 25, 2014 at Kingston of Ashland following a brief illness.
Jean was born July 20, 1932 in Shiloh, the daughter of the late Vernon and Lois (Dick) Moser. She was a 1950 graduate of Shiloh High School and then went on to graduate from The Ohio State University in 1952 where she earned a degree in dental hygiene. It was there that she met her husband, Philip J. Holmes. They were married September 14, 1952 at Mt. Hope Lutheran Church in Shiloh. During her marriage, Mrs. Holmes spent her life traveling the country and Europe as an Air Force wife. In 1998 Choppy retired as a dental hygienist from Walter Glenn, DDS in Shiloh. She was a member of Mt. Hope Lutheran Church in Shiloh, Daughters of the American Revolution Jared Mansfield Chapter, Shiloh American Legion Auxiliary, and was a founding member of the Shiloh Area Historical Society where she served in various positions. She also served for several years with the Shiloh High School Alumni Association planning many alumni reunions.
Jean is survived by: 6 children: Jody (Dr. John) Jones of Fargo, ND, Mindy (Michael) Beeman of Rawlings, MD, Stacy Holmes of Nashville, TN, Dr. Erin Holmes (Dr. Samuel Gingrich) Anchorage, AK, Gretchen (Michael) Huttleston of Shiloh, Kelly (Rodney) Snyder of Shiloh; 15 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; a niece: Deborah (Dawson) Wolfe of NY; and 2 cousins: Pamela Moser of Shelby, Daryl Moser of Atlanta, GA. Paul R. Rissler, age 48, of Shiloh, died Sunday, March 16, 2014 at his home following a battle with cancer.
Paul was born on July 23, 1965 in Lancaster, PA, the son of Paul M. and Alta B. (Reiff) Rissler. He was a member of Bloomingrove Mennonite Church. Paul was the self-employed owner of Spring Maple Enterprises where he was a woodworker and custom poultry processer.
On December 19, 1989, Paul married Barbara M. Reiff and she survives. Also surviving are: 8 children: Marian R. (David) Martin of Plymouth, Leroy R. Rissler of Leola, PA, Harlan R. Rissler, Wilma R. Rissler, Lamar R. Rissler, Vernon R. Rissler, Dorcas R. Rissler, Barbara R. Rissler all at home; one granddaughter, Alana Joy Martin; his mother, Alta B. Rissler of Leola, PA; 4 brothers: James Rissler of Mt. Pleasant Mills, PA, David Rissler of Manheim, PA, Aaron Rissler of Africa, Harlan Rissler of Reinholds, PA; 2 sisters: Susan Leid of Ephrata, PA, Vera Rissler of Leola, PA; his mother-in-law, Barbara H. Thelma I. Frank, age 96, of Shelby, died Monday, March 10, 2014 surrounded by her family in the loving care of Hospice House of North Central Ohio in Ashland.
She was born October 28, 1917 in Richland County, Ohio the daughter of the late Phillip R. and Bessie (Eckels) Yohn. Phillip and Bessie raised their girls on a farm. From childhood, Thelma enjoyed animals and this enjoyment spilled over to her special companion, her cat, Miss Kitty. Thelma began her working career at the Shelby Gum Company and the Tuby during World War II. She worked at Quanex for 30 years most of that time as a “Class A” welder and was a timekeeper closer to her retirement in 1983. As a longtime and faithful member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Thelma was active in the Mary Martha Circle, Sunshine Club and Good Fellowship Class. Her pies and pecan rolls were highly desired items at the church bazaar. A selfless woman, Thelma always put the needs of others before her own.
Thelma’s first love was her family which includes her children: Richard L. and Joann Frank of Shelby, Cheryl Reed of Shelby, and Karen and Dr. Walter Kime of Ashland; 12 Grandchildren: Lisa Heydinger, Sam Patton, Jessica Frank, Cory Frank, Mark (Jennifer) Kime, David Kime (Kathleen Quinn), Adam (Laura)Kime, Meg (Ed) Legenza, David Reed, Bryan (Jen) Reed, Nathan Reed, Stephanie (Justin) Wheeler; 21 great grandchildren: Amia, Casey, Clara, Grayson, Samuel IV, Corbin, Sabastain, Thomas, Sam, Lily, Olive, Teagan, Everett, Emily, Stas, Nicole, Andrew, Sidney, Marci, Isaac, Kyra; 1 great great grandchild: Rogerick.
