Jeri Ann Geer

Jeri Ann Geer, age 89, of Shelby, died peacefully Monday morning, September 15, 2025 at LSS Lutheran Village in Ashland.

Jeri was born December 16, 1935 in Columbus, Ohio to the late David Milford and Charlotte Marie (Flowers) Wiggins. She graduated from Garfield Heights High School.  On August 10, 1957, Jeri married Charles G. “Charlie” Geer and together they celebrated 55 years of marriage before his passing in 2013. She loved caring for her family as a homemaker. Jeri enjoyed crossword puzzles, reading, and baking being especially known as an excellent pie maker. Jeri spent a great deal of her time outside tending to her flowers and keeping her yard in meticulous shape. Her greatest joy however was spending time with her children and grandchildren. A woman of faith, Jeri was a member of First Lutheran Church in Shelby.

Jeri is survived by her sons: Michael (Carol) Geer of Barkhamsted, CT and Gregory (Julie) Geer of Shelby; grandchildren: Adam (Nikki) Geer, Christopher Geer, Jason (Destiny) Hensley, Nicole (John) Goldbach, and Charles (Amber) Hensley; 9 great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, Charlie, Jeri was preceded in death by her son: Charles “Chuck” Geer in 2023 and her grandson, Joshua Geer.

Family and friends are welcome on Saturday, September 27, 2025 (please note exact date) from 12 – 1pm at the Penwell Funeral Home, 168 West Main Street, Shelby, where funeral services will immediately follow at 1 pm. Rev. Dr. Russel Yoak, Pastor of First Lutheran Church in Shelby, will officiate the funeral. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to Richland County Dog Pound or Gentiva Hospice at 1199 Delaware Avenue Suite 102, Marion, OH 43302.

Jeri’s family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to LSS Lutheran Village of Ashland and Gentiva Hospice for the care given to Jeri.
