Emma D. (Weber) Baker

Emma D. Baker, 81, of 3011 Hayden Road, Columbus, and formerly of Myers Road, Shelby, died Friday, Dec. 10, 1999, at the Mayfair Village in Columbus after a short illness.

Mrs. Baker was born August 10, 1918 in Ada, Ohio the daughter of Alfred and Daisy (Anspaugh) Weber. She was a graduate of Wellington High School.

She and her late husband owned Baker Hardware on Springmill Street in Mansfield for many years, and she also worked at Keils Department Store in Shelby. She enjoyed needlework and sewing and put her skills to work making doll clothes for the many Idolls she collected.
She was a member of the Fond Memories Doll Club. She took great joy in maintaining the family’s five acres on Myers Road until April of 1999 when she moved to Columbus.

She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Jane and Thomas Seeley of Columbus, 3 grandchildren: James Todd Brown of Columbus, Scott Seeley of Westport, CT, and Ryan Seeley of Columbus; 2 great-grandchildren: Cameron Brown and Brooke Brown; 1 sister, Mary Staroski of Lecante, FL; 2 brothers: Robert Weber and William Weber both of Wellington; many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur P. Baker in 1987, a son, John E. Baker in 1992, a sister, Margaret Carino, and 2 brothers, Mark Weber and her twin, Charles Weber.

Calling hours will be on Monday from 2-3:30 p.m. at the Turner Funeral Home, 168 West Main Street, Shelby, where funeral services will be Monday at 3:30 p.m. with the Rev. Craig Jones, pastor of the First Christian Church, officiating.
