Clytie Olive (Mock) Hohler

Clytie O. Hohler, age 82, of 38 West End Blvd., Shelby, died Saturday, June 10, 2000 at the home of her daughter Patricia in Parkville, Missouri after an extended illness.

Clytie was born May 4, 1918 in Republic, Ohio the daughter of Clyde H. and Myrtle A. (Leibengood) Mock. She graduated in 1936 from Shelby High School and as a young woman she worked for the Telephone Company as an operator in Sandusky, Ohio. After her marriage to Dennis W. “Dan” Holher on November 28, 1946, Clytie and Dan worked side-by-side at Hohler Custom Butchering. She was a member of Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church, Business and Professional Womens Club, Alpha Nu Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi, Altar and Rosary Society, and Knights of Columbus Auxiliary all in Shelby. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and spent numerous hours making crafts, quilts, and lap robes for charitable organizations.

She is survived by 1 son and daughter-in-law: Dennis W. and Marlys Hohler, Jr. of Shevlin,
Minnesota; 2 daughters and sons-in-law: Jacqueline “Jackie” and Anthony Tomasich and Patricia “Pat” and Terry Brown all of Parkville, Missouri; 4 grandsons and 4 granddaughters; a sister, Marie Scheel of Sandusky; 2 brothers: Paul Mock of Winterhaven, Florida and Russell Mock of Sandusky; a sister-in-law, Marian Mock of Sandusky; a life-long friend, Jeannette Oates of Shelby.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1988 and a brother James Mock.

Calling hours will be held from 5-8 PM, Wednesday, June 14, 2000 at the Turner Funeral Home,
168 West Main Street, Shelby. A Christian Wake service will be held Wednesday evening at 8 PM. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday at 10:00 AM at Most Pure Heart Of Mary Catholic Church with Father John C. Missler officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Memorial expressions may be made to Hospice of North Central Ohio and left in care of the funeral home.
