William H. “Bill” Barndollar

William H. “Bill” Barndollar, age 80, of Shelby, died Thursday, March 29, 2018 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Bill was born June 7, 1937 in Clearfield, KY, the son of the late William Arthur and Martha (Stewart) Barndollar. He was a 1955 graduate of Morehead High School. Bill worked for several years at AMF in Shelby prior to a 30-year career at the “Tuby” in Shelby working in the Cost Department. He retired from there, Copperweld/Ohio Steel Tube, in 1999.

Bill was a people person. He and his wife, Geretha, met many people and made many friends throughout their marriage. He enjoyed sending cards and making people laugh. Many years ago, Bill was active with the Black Fork Players. He always enjoyed capturing moments on camera by taking many photos and kept scrapbooks of his works. A generous man, Bill was a faithful blood donor giving over 22 gallons throughout his life. He also volunteered at the Salvation Army in Mansfield. Bill was a very active member of Ontario First Church of God where he always helped with any tasks needing completion.

Bill and his wife, Geretha C. (Todd) Barndollar, just recently celebrated 60 years of marriage. They were married on March 16, 1958 and she survives him. Also surviving are 2 daughters: Juan (Dan) Barndollar-Stuckman of Mansfield and Natalie (Steve) Jenkins of Ashland; 5 grandchildren: Todd Yarger, Tyeler (Tina) Yarger, Turner (Kayla) Yarger, Taylor (Kyle Bache) Jenkins, and Ryan William Jenkins; 3 great grandchildren: Kinsley, Brinley, and Kenna; a step-grandson: Ryan (Deana) Stuckman; 3 step-great grandchildren: Kayli, Jade, and Jace; 2 sisters: Alice Martin of Xenia, OH and Loretta Gevedon of Morehead, KY; a sister-in-law: Glansy Williams of Beckley, WV; a close family friend: Jim Parsons; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Walter Barndollar and Robert Barndollar.

Family and friends are welcome on Monday, April 2, 2018 from 2-4 and 6-7:30 pm at the Turner Funeral Home, 168 West Main Street, Shelby, where funeral services will immediately follow the visitation at 7:30 pm. Services will be officiated by Rev. Larry Collins and Rev. Walter Keib. Additional visitation will be on Wednesday, April 4, 2018 from 5-7 pm at the Northcutt and Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, KY. Graveside services will be on Thursday, April 5, 2018 at 10:30 am at Stewart Family Cemetery, Clearfield, KY, with Pastor Ben Furman officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Red Cross, Salvation Army, or Ontario First Church of God.

    So sorry to hear of Bill”s passing. He was a good friend of my mother who worked with him at AMF and was always sending her cards and funny sayings. She passed 2015 and i met him and his wife at her funeral. Rosella Mottayaw was her name.I know he will be missed and all my sympathy goes out to all of his family. God Bless you all.

    I met Mr. Barndollar a couple years ago over his cane at my work. He had the Indians all over it. I even got to take a picture of it. Then they came into where I work now. He was always such a funny guy. I am so sorry for your loss.

    So sorry to hear of the passing of the passing of Mr. Barndollar, I spoke with him at one of my parents funeral, I believe it was Williams Finefrock Funeral Home he was working.
