Timothy D. Lewis
Timothy D. Lewis, age 62, of Mansfield, died Monday, January 18, 2021 at OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital.
Tim was born March 30, 1958 in Shelby and was a 1977 graduate of Plymouth High School. In high school, Tim was a member of the FFA where he showed cattle and a love for farming was sparked. He was also proud to be a member of the State Champion Cross Country Team where he remains a record holder. Following high school, Tim served his country in the United States Marine Corps and later in the Ohio Air National Guard 200th RED HORSE Squadron.
Tim enjoyed work of any kind and could do anything he put his mind to. If he did not know how to do something at first, he would quickly learn. For many years he was employed at Phillips Manufacturing in Shelby prior to a 28-year career at “the Tuby”, ArcelorMittal. Outside of his daily job, he had a multitude of side jobs which he thoroughly enjoyed including, but not limited to helping numerous friends farm, landscaping, tree farming, and detailing. He absolutely loved to mow grass and similarly enjoyed gardening. Cars were also a passion, noting that cars were his “garage art”, and he enjoyed flipping many over the years into pristine condition and making them perfect. Tim was proud to have been a double lung transplant recipient in 2017 which gave him three and a half years of quality life which he truly cherished. He was a man of strong faith, who loved telling others about the Lord.
On July 5, 2008, he married Robyn (Kegley) Lewis and she survives. Also surviving are his children: Matt (Katie) Lewis of Galion, Shannon (Aaron) Lesher, and Ryan Combs (Olivia Claypool) both of Lexington, KY; 5 grandsons: Austin, Dalton, Tanner, Grady, and Boone; his mother: Sue Carol (Apger) Lewis; siblings: Carol Akers, Steve (Melanie) Lewis, Danny (Jill) Lewis), and David (Joyce) Lewis; brother-in-law: Joe Kegley; and nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Jackie Dale Lewis, and his first wife, Kathleen Marie (Cramer) Lewis in 1992.
Family and friends are welcome on Friday, January 22, 2021 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the Penwell Turner Funeral Home, 168 West Main Street, Shelby where funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 23, 2021 at 10 am. Military honors will be conducted by the Richland County Joint Veterans Burial Detail at the funeral home with burial following in Oakland Cemetery in Shelby. Pastor Mike Rogers, of the Church of God on North Trimble Road in Mansfield where Tim had attended, will officiate the services. Guests are respectfully asked to wear masks when attending.

I am so sorry for your loss. Tim was a wonderful person and I have very fond memories of him.
Tim was always a friend to me. He lived close to me for many years. We often rode together to work when we were on the midnight shift. I will always cherish our times that we spent together.
I was shocked to get this sad news from Coach James earlier this week. That said, a number of us will forever hold those precious memories of running cross country together in the 1970s. Practices and meets were physically rough, but the successful results have resulted in a lifetime of great memories. That includes all of us “Shiloh kids” of the teams, among them Tim, Steve, Brett, Guy, Larry, and others (plus Tim N & Jim S from 1971).
My sympathy to the entire Lewis family in this time of grief. Tim will be greatly missed. Bless you all.

I was so sorry to learn that Tim had passed. I had so many special times with him and all the guys who ran cross country. What a special time we had! I got to know him better through my friendship with Kathy. He will be missed by all who knew him. My prayers go out to all the Lewis family for their loss.

I was really sorry to read about Tim’s Passing. I worked with him several years ago. Anytime I would run into him he always had a smile on his face and kind words to say. Prayers for the family.

My heart sank upon hearing of Tim’s passing. We rarely crossed paths for years now, but I have many fond memories of shared experiences beginning in 4th grade, to running track & cross country, and “enjoying” boot camp together. Tim was both an inspiration and a good friend. He certainly proves the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. My prayers for your whole family.
