Thomas J. “Tom” Lewicki

Thomas J. “Tom” Lewicki, age 73, of Mansfield, passed away early Monday morning, September 30, 2024 at his home following a courageous battle with cancer.

Tom was born June 19, 1951 in Garfield Heights, Ohio to the late Edwin and Harriette (Majka) Lewicki. Raised in Parma, Tom graduated from Valley Forge High School in 1969. He served his country in the Ohio Army Air National Guard and was a veteran of the United States Army. A job at General Hone Corp brought Tom and his wife, Eunice, to the Mansfield area, a company he was dedicated to for over 30 years. Following, he worked for PR Machine Works until his retirement in 2017.

A machinist through and through, there were very few things Tom could not do. He was consistently tinkering making parts for various projects and things he was building on his own machines. A project he particularly had enjoyed was building model steam engines. Tom was a gun enthusiast, having an extensive collection over the years, and especially enjoyed time at his shooting range on their property. Traveling brought both Tom and Eunice much joy, no matter the destination- cruises, all-inclusive resorts, and bus trips to name a few.

Tom is survived by his beloved wife of nearly 41 years, Eunice C. (Grabiec) Lewicki, whom he wed November 19, 1983; their nieces and nephews: Michael S. (Genvieve) Lewicki, Benjamin T. (Kristin) Lewicki, Christopher A. (Andrea) Lewicki, Duane S. (Heidi) Loya, William (Kelly) Loya, Douglas Lesko, and Amanda R. (Paul) Kenosky; in-laws: Kathy (Warren) Leonard and Jessica Lesko; great nieces and nephews: Phillip Lewicki, Evelyn Lewicki, Kate Lewicki, Lauryn Lewicki, Reagan Loya, and Zoey Lesko; and other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, Tom was preceded in death by his brothers: Phillip E. Lewicki and Allan L. Lewicki; and sisters-in-law: Elaine C. Stecker and Evelyn M. Lesko.

Eunice would like personally thank Pam Oney who was a great source of care and relief for both she and Tom over the past several months.

Family and friends are welcome on Thursday, October 10, 2024 from 5-7 pm for a Life Celebration at the Penwell Funeral Home, 168 West Main Street, Shelby, Ohio 44875. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Richland County Humane Society (http://adoptourstrays.com/support-us/) or OhioHealth Hospice-Mansfield, https://foundation.ohiohealth.com/programs/hospice-giving, (please select the Mansfield designation).
