Sheila Ann Messersmith

Sheila Ann Messersmith, age 58, of Shelby, died unexpectedly Thursday, June 4, 2020 at her home.
Sheila was born on April 20, 1962 in Shelby to the late Virgil and Rosemary (Thomas) Owens. She had worked at several places, including Wendy’s and Dollar General for many years.
Sheila enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She loved her dogs, Marley and Harley, who were great company and companions for her.
Sheila will be missed by her three children: Heath (partner, Mark Hively) Messersmith of Shelby, Heather (fiancé, Donald Manuel) Messersmith of Galion, and Michael (Teressa) Messersmith of Shiloh; three grandchildren: Lucas Manuel, Riley Messersmith, and Adam Manuel; siblings: Pam Owens of Bucyrus, Patty Sable of Monticello, IN, Deborah Studer of Shelby, Paula (Chris) Rodriguez of Butler, Michael Owens of Shelby, and Michelle Owens of Butler; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. In addition to her parents, Sheila was preceded in death by her husband: Richard D. “Rich” Messersmith, Jr. in 2016; and her brother: Mark Owens.
Both the family and the funeral home wish that everyone remains safe. Therefore, we ask that visitors be mindful of current restrictions and pay respects appropriately and promptly, without lingering. Family and friends are welcomed on Monday, June 8, 2020 from 4 pm until the time of the funeral service at 6 pm at the Penwell Turner Funeral Home, 168 West Main Street, Shelby. Pastor J.R. Harvey will officiate.

I just wanna say how amazing Sheila was. When we worked together she was like a second momma to me. I would always run into her from time to time and she always wanted to know how life was. She was such a kind hearted woman. The world lost one hell of a woman.
