Sarah B. (Laser) Reeder

Sarah B. (Laser) Reeder, age 88, of New London and formerly of Shiloh, died Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at The Laurels of New London.

She was born January 13, 1930 in Shelby. Sarah was a1947 graduate of Shelby High School and was a homemaker. Sarah loved the outdoors, maintaining her yard, showing horses, and playing bingo. She was a member of First United Methodist Church.

Sarah was a devoted mother to her four children: Sandy Mowry of New London, Penny (Terry) Ashworth of Myrtle Beach, SC, Tom (Kathy) Laser of New London, and Jeff Laser, who preceded her in death in 2005. Also surviving are 6 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by: her father: Reuben Edward Moon; step-father: Augustus Anderson; mother: Jessie McGlaughlin Moon Anderson; her first husband: Thomas Laser; her second husband: Buck Reeder; a son-in-law: Bryan Mowry; a brother: Burt Moon; and sisters: Phyllis Gwinner, Alice Adams, Joyce Rinehart.

Family and friends are welcome on Monday, March 5, 2018 from 1-2 pm at the Turner Funeral Home, 168 West Main Street, Shelby, where funeral services will be at 2 pm. Fr. David Gwinner, her nephew, will officiate, and burial will follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery in Shiloh. In lieu of flowers, memorial expressions may be made to Stein Hospice, Shriners Burn Hospital, or Alzheimer’s Association.
