Robert Lee “Bob” Laferty
Robert Lee “Bob” Laferty, age 64, of Tiro, died Wednesday, March 21, 2018 at OhioHealth Shelby Hospital after suffering an apparent heart attack at his home.
Bob was born February 6, 1954 at the family home in Shiloh to Joshua and Mildred I. (Simmermacher) Laferty. He was a 1973 graduate of South Central High School and EHOVE Joint Vocational School where he was in the Machine Trades program. Bob was retired from R.R. Donnelley & Sons Company in Willard after 29 years of service. He enjoyed being outdoors and especially liked tinkering on cars in his garage.
Bob loved his family, especially his wife, children, and grandchildren. Survivors include his wife, Deborah M. “Debbie” (Osborne) Laferty, whom he wed on August 4, 1984; 7 children: Robert Lee “B.J.” Laferty, Jr. of Willard, Carrie (Dan) Weisenberger of Bellevue, Tabitha Laferty of Shelby, Samantha (Nathan) Shepherd of Tiro, Jocelyn Laferty of Galion, Todd (Misty) Laferty of Galion, and Jessica (Jacob) Dapper of North Robinson; 13 grandchildren with one on the way; his mother: Mildred I. Laferty of Tiro; 5 siblings: Betty (Charles) Osborne of Tiro, Jean (Kevin) Phelps of Crestline, Cathy (Bruce) Petty of Tiro, Dennis (Amanda) Laferty of Tiro, Joshua (Colleen) Laferty, Jr. of Nevada; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. He was preceded in death by his father: Joshua Laferty in 2017; a son-in-law: Mark Blunt; a granddaughter: MacKenzie Blunt; and 2 nephews: Bradley Petty and Kevin Phelps, Jr.
Family and friends are welcome on Monday, March 26, 2018 from 3-5 pm at the Turner Funeral Home, 168 West Main Street, Shelby, where funeral services will follow at 5 pm with his nephew, Pastor Dennis Laferty, Jr., officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Turner Funeral Home.

We will all miss Bob he could make you laugh and that was a good thing. He love his family and his grandkids. Bob love going out and playing with all of the that went down to plat with the grandkids. Hw will be miss a lot RIP Bob. I will miss you because he help me when Dan was sick and Mark was not here to help us anymore. THANK YOU. You will be miss by all of us . I can not express fully in words how sorry I am for your loss. Jess has always spoken so highly of Mr. Laferty as well as the whole family! We are so sad to here of Bobs passing. The family is remembered for being good neighbors when we lived in Tiro. Please except our heartfelt sympathy.
we want to send our condolences to the family, I could hardly believe it when I heard what had happened. He will be missed. Don’t see alot of the family but i would run in to Dad going to the post office. May God give you the strength and love to get through these hard days ahead.
