Robert John “Rob” Kreim
Robert John “Rob” Kreim, age 53, of Shelby, died unexpectedly Tuesday, July 19, 2016 after suffering an apparent heart attack while at work.
Rob was born December 6, 1962 at the family home in New Washington due to a terrible snow storm that did not permit his mother to make it to the hospital. He was a 1981 graduate of Buckeye Central High School where he was a hall of fame track member as a state champion in the 4×100 meter relay. Rob later graduated with two bachelor’s degrees from the University of Akron where, while in college, he had an internship at Cavanaugh Building Corporation in Fairlawn. He continued his work there upon the completion of his degree. Rob and his family then returned to Shelby and he has been employed at ArcelorMittal for the past 20 until his untimely death.
Rob was a member of the Sons of The American Legion in New Washington. He loved motorcycle riding, sports, and eating ribs at the New Riegel Café. He had many wonderful friends whom he loved, including: Chet Johnson and Andy Durkin. Above all else, Rob was an excellent father and his absolute favorite thing in life was being with his family and watching all of his children’s sporting events, which he rarely missed.
Rob is survived by his wife, Shirley Jane “Sher” (Reeder) Kreim, whom he married on April 8, 1988. Also surviving are his 4 four children: Jennie (Nicholas) Shasky of Marysville, Robert Tyler Kreim, Kaitlin Shea Kreim, and Elliott Maxwell Kreim all of Plymouth; 3 grandchildren: Logan, Cooper, and Maddox; his mother: Regine (Kempf) Kreim of Shelby; 3 sisters: Joan (David) Field of Marion, Kathy (Gary) Siesel of Bellevue, and Denise (Jim) Bowen of Green; his mother-in-law: Margaret Reeder of Shelby; his Pomeranian babies whom he adored; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, John William Kreim, and his father-in-law, Paul Edward Reeder.
Family and friends are welcome on Friday, July 22, 2016 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the Turner Funeral Home, 168 West Main Street, Shelby, where a rosary service will be conducted following the evening calling hours. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, July 23, 2016 at 1 PM at Rob’s home parish, St. Bernard Catholic Church, 422 W Main Street, New Washington, OH will Fr. Eric Culler officiating. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery near his father, John. Memorial contributions may be made to The Kreim Family.

To all of the family, I am so sad for your loss. I have memories of Rob from St. Bernards’s and Buckeye Central. I also remember when you lived in town and many of us would ride bikes around town. I was stunned when I heard the news. He was taken from all of us far to soon.
Rob would come down to the house to play football he won 5-4. I couldn’t
catch him because he was so fast. In the past we would talk at the festival and he would share how proud he was of his family. I am so sorry, I will pray for you all. Tim Studer

Rob and I were Carpentry classmates at Pioneer. I’ll always smile as I think about Rob, with his perfect hair, that grin, and his unique sense of humor. He was always great fun to be around! We even managed to learn a few things together. Sher, although we haven’t met, please know that Rob, you and your family will always be in my prayers.
Shirley and Family,
Although its been a few years since we’ve seen each other, I still feel the same connection to Rob as I did in college. I am still trying to comprehend the news since you called this morning. I wish I could have been there for the service. Please know that I will keep you and your family in my prayers. I know God will now watch over you and yours with Rob at his side.
