Phyllis A. Hebble

Phyllis A. Hebble, age 85, of Shelby, died Tuesday, April 4, 2017 at OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital.

Phyllis was born June 6, 1931 in Bradley, IL, the daughter of the late Stanley and Florence (Dixon) Safiran. She was a graduate of Bloom Township High School in Chicago Heights, IL. Before settling in Shelby, Phyllis moved about the country with her young family living inMuskegon, MI, Arcade, NY, Stamford, CT, Carthage, NY and York, PA developing many friendships along the way.

Phyllis worked as a bridal consultant for many years in Mansfield, beginning her career at O’Neil’s Department Store and working through several acquisitions, later retiring from The May Department Stores Company in 1993. She was an avid Cleveland Browns, Indians, and Cavaliers fan and enjoyed playing bridge with two different groups. She loved to bake and garden and enjoyed exercising at the Shelby Senior and Community Center.

Phyllis is survived by her 3 sons: Brad (Susan) Hebble of Westminster, MD, Jeff (Susan) Hebble of Western Springs, IL, Bruce (Sherry) Hebble of Shelby; 6 grandchildren: Andrew Hebble, Brad Humbert, William Hebble, Anna Hebble, Charles Hebble, Sophie Hebble; and 5 brothers and sisters: Martha Currier, Dorothy Hendricks, Ed Safiran, Michael (Dolores) Safiran, and Peter (Cathy) Safiran. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 4 siblings: Jack Safiran, Stanley Safiran, Jr., Mary Lou Dellibac, and infant brother, Paul.

Family and friends are welcome on Saturday, April 8, 2017 from 2-4 PM at the Turner Funeral Home, 168 West Main Street, Shelby. Burial will be with her family in Maternity BVM Cemetery in Bourbonnais, IL. Memorial contributions may be made to Shelby Y or to Shelby Senior Center.
