Peggy Lynne (Miller) Reed

Peggy Lynne Reed, age 82, formerly of Shelby, died Monday, August 27, 2018 at Country Meadows Care Center in Bellville, Ohio.

She was born June 23,1936 in Shelby the daughter of the late Tiry and Clara (Adams) Miller. Peggy was a 1954 graduate of Shelby High School and was a former employee of Wilkins Air Force Depot.

Peggy was a “picker” before people knew what pickers were. She was an avid shopper at thrift shops and flea markets which is how she gathered her eclectic and eccentric collections which included dolls and buttons. Peggy was a member of Richland County Doll Association. She had a huge love for animals and, over the years, rescued many wayward animals that needed a home.

Peggy is survived by her children: Valerie (Stan) Rust of Ontario, Vaughn (Amy) Reed of Littlefield, Arizona, Randy (Sherri) Reed of Madison Township, Frank (Pam) Reed of Shelby, and Michael (Joyce) Miller of Georgia; 17 grandchildren; and numerous great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband: Vale A. Reed in 2014; a son: Ricki Allen Reed in 1971 and by infant twins: Vicki and Victor Reed.

Family and friends are welcome on Saturday, September 1, 2018 from 12 noon-1 pm at the Turner Funeral Home, 168 West Main Street, Shelby where funeral services will immediately follow at 1 pm. Pastor Gary Lambert will officiate, and burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery in Shiloh. Memorial expressions may be made to Starfish Project, 9 North Mulberry Street, Mansfield, Ohio 44902.

    Peggy was a riot & you were blessed to get on her shopping list.. I think of her everytime I see a can of coke. She will be missed. I loved this lady.
