Paul L. Milliron

Paul L. Milliron, age 86, of Shelby, died Tuesday, February 16, 2016 at OhioHealth Shelby Hospital.

He was born July 27, 1929 in Shelby the son of the late Ronald H. and Lois Maude (Temple) Milliron. Paul was a 1947 graduate of Shelby High School and a veteran of the U.S. Army.

He retired from Columbia Gas of Ohio in 1985 after 36 years of service. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and was a former member of the Shelby Eagles, where he had been past president. Paul was one of the founding fathers of Shelby Girls Softball League and had been a Cub Scout and Boy Scout leader.

Paul is survived by his wife: Joanne (Wenning) Milliron whom he wed on July 9, 1976; 4 children: Paul Jr. “Ron” (Debra) Milliron of Irving, TX, Durkin “Durk” (Anne) Milliron of Manchester, TN, Bret  (Sharon) Milliron of Punta Gorda, FL, Vella (David) King of Ashland, OH; 14 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; 3 sisters-in-law: Khanh Milliron, Beverly (Jim) Swanger, Peggy Estep; Numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by a son: Mark “Kip” Milliron on May 13, 2014; 2 brothers: Charles Richard Milliron and Harry Allen Milliron.

Friends and family are welcome on Thursday, February 18, 2016 from Noon – 1:00 PM at Trinity United Methodist Church. Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM with his pastor Rev. Dr. Edna Stahl officiating. Military honors will follow conducted by Richland County Joint Veterans Burial Detail.

Memorial expressions may be made to the church or to Shelby Girls Softball League. Care for Paul given by Bob, Catherine and Jake at Turner Funeral Home.
