Patrick Lee “Nobody” Lybarger

Patrick Lee “Nobody” Lybarger, age 64, died on September 19th, 2014 at his home in Norfolk, Virginia.

Born August 24, 1950 in Shelby, Ohio, he was the son of the late Agnes Fry Rudd and James A. Lybarger. He graduated in 1968 from Shelby High School and went on to serve in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War from June 1968-March 1970 followed by his service in the United States Navy from October 1977-January 1980.

Rick worked at PPG in Crestline, Ohio and for the City of Shelby Line Department following his Marine career.  His 40 year career in electronics began in the Marine Corps, continued in the Navy and took him across the country and overseas.  Former employers include Superior Engineering, Eastern Computers, American Communications, SEMCOR of Chesapeake, Bazon-Cox, and ended with General Dynamics in 2012.

“Nobody” was Virginia state charter member of the Vietnam Vets/Legacy Vets Motorcycle Club and was with the club for nearly 30 years.  Club members are all veterans that have served or are currently serving our country.  They ride in honor of our wounded warriors and in memory of those who have given the ultimate sacrifice while never forgetting the mission of bringing home our POW/MIAs.  His life’s passions were God, family and club.  Rick was also a life member of the Ocean View VFW post 3160 in Norfolk, Virginia.

Rick is survived by his beloved wife, Joanna Lieck Lybarger and their daughter, Apryl Raye Nanney and husband Jeffrey Dean, daughter Honore’ Aresenault, husband Joseph and grandson Zigmund, brother Michael Lybarger and wife Kimberly of  Shelby, sister Jill Potter and husband Mike of Shelby, sister-in-law Carol Lieck Witherow and husband Gary and many nieces, nephews and their families.
