Neil Roy Amert

Neil Roy Amert, age 39, died unexpectedly Saturday, October 28, 2017 at the home of his brother as a result of an accident.
Neil was born January 4, 1978 in Shelby, the son of Mary Lou (Posekany) and Edward A. Amert, Jr. He was a 1996 graduate of Shelby High School. Neil was a sports fan, especially of The Ohio State University Buckeyes, the Pittsburgh Penguins, and NASCAR- specifically of Jeff Gordon and Chase Elliott. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, playing video games with his nephews and nieces, and working on a HO Scale Model Train Set with his dad.
Survivors include: his father, Edward A. “Ed” Amert, Jr. of Greenwich; his brother: Derek (Becca) Amert, and their children: Derek, Jr., Samuel, Olivia, Toby and Emma, all of Mansfield; a sister: Mara Amert and her daughters: Brianna and Morgan, all of Bailey Lakes; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives, and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother: Mary Lou (Posekany) Amert in 1993; grandparents: Edward and Marjorie Amert, Sr. and Edward and Orthella Posekany; and an uncle: Richard Posekany.
Family and friends are welcome on Wednesday, November 1, 2017 from 12-1pm at the Turner Funeral Home, 168 West Main Street, Shelby, where funeral services will immediately follow at 1 pm with Rev. Floyd Glick, Jr., Pastor of Mansfield First Church of the Nazarene, officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the Turner Funeral Home to help defray funeral expenses.
