Nancy Ann Pfahler
Nancy Ann Pfahler, age 91, formerly of Shelby, died Wednesday, December 18, 2013 at Meadowbrook Care Center in Montgomery, Ohio.
She was born January 16, 1922 in Shelby the daughter of the late Judd and Bertha (Tilock) Palmer. Nancy was a 1940 graduate of Shelby High School and served in the U.S. Coast Guard during World War II. She was a homemaker and was an active member of First United Methodist Church. She loved and served the Lord Jesus Christ. A Meals On Wheels volunteer with her husband, Roger, they enjoyed time together sailing, camping, gardening, cross country skiing, bird watching and traveling.
Nancy is survived by her children: David Lee (Terry) Pfahler of Pierre, South Dakota, Ellen (Robert) Morris of Cincinnati, and Beth (Steve) Rogers of Nashua, New Hampshire; and 7 Grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Roger Harris Pfahler in 2003; Son: Scott H. Pfahler in 1972; and by a sister: Mary Wallace.
Friends and family are welcome on Saturday, December 21, 2013 from 10 -11 AM at the First United Methodist Church, 18 South Gamble Street, Shelby where funeral services will be conducted at 11 AM by Pastor Thomas Snyder. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery. Military honors will be conducted at the church by Richland County Joint Veterans Burial Detail. Memorial expressions may be made to Shelby Helpline Ministries or to the church.
