Michael Lee Heinberger, Jr.
Michael Lee Heinberger, Jr., age 58, of Mansfield, died Thursday, December 23, 2021 at Avita Health System Galion Hospital as a result of a heart attack.
Mike was born August 15, 1963 in Mansfield to Shirley Jean (Makowski) and Michael Lee Heinberger, Sr. He was a very talented auto mechanic his entire life beginning his work at his parents’ station, M & S Marathon. His talents lead him to become an ASE Certified GM Mechanic and he spent his entire life working at various dealerships- most recently for Rocket Chevrolet in Shelby.
It did not matter where Mike was or what he was doing, if there was someone who needed him, he was there. He was such a giving person who was always on the go. He was continually in work mode and constantly wanted to prove his worth. Mike had his family, and he had his bar family at Finish Line and Bostic Time- both of which he was incredibly close with. He was always the life of the party and quickly became friends with anyone he was around. Mike enjoyed throwing darts and poker night, taking canoeing trips with his bar family, and fishing trips with friends. Back road car drives with his wife, Crystal, were frequent and driving the grandchildren around on the 4-wheeler was always a thrill. He was always so much fun to be around.
Mike married Crystal G. (Tackett) Heinberger on June 17, 2006 and she survives. Also surviving are his 3 children: Christopher Michael Heinberger of Ashland, Jami Harvilla of Galion, and Brandon Mansfield of Toledo; 4 grandchildren: Alivia Faith and Karson Lee Heinberger and Liam Masyn and Roman Hudsyn Harvilla; his father: Michael Lee Heinberger, Sr. of Marblehead; a sister and brother: Cynthia Lee Heinberger of Galion and Kevin Lee (Amanda) Heinberger of Mansfield; a brother-in-law: Jason Lee (Christina) Tackett of Mansfield; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Shirley Jean (Makowski) Heinberger, and his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Faye and Jr. Tackett.

I worked with Mike at Rocket Chevrolet, Mike and Crystal became part of my family. He taught me alot about cars, and they both shared alot of love with me. I live out of state, and my family is always happy to see me. Mike and Crystal both made me feel so loved when I came home, they’d meet me for dinner and we’d catch up. I can’t explain how much love I felt from them. I know how awesome he was and how desperately he’ll be missed from everyone who knew him. Lots of love to Crystal and family to help thru this time. My grandmother Mary Eggerton worked at M&S for years.
Recently, been taking some time out to find my awesome friend, Michael, but I didn’t expect to find him this way. Mike and I, spent a lot of time in the woods on the very cold days of winter hunting wild game. He took me in when I needed somewhere to lay my head and I more than gladly returned the favor later on in our lives, which made us family. Not only did we share many, many days of habitual laughter, but we also cried as well, during the early years of the 90’s. After that, our lives took different roads, but I never forgot him, including the awesome memories that I carried with me, down that bumpy, rough road.
Mikey, I know you took a journey that we cannot trace, but we do know, you reached your home and seen your Father’s face. Much love for ya, man!
Your Christian Brother,
Randy
