Medrith Gwendolyn Brown Bosshardt-James

Medrith Gwendolyn Brown Bosshardt-James, of St. George, Utah, passed away at age 88 on March 5, 2013.

She was born May 2, 1924 in Lykens Township, Chatfield, Ohio, to Vonna Lee Tway Brown and Harl Edwin Brown. Medrith was married to Harry Bosshardt of San Francisco, who perished when their airplane crashed. She married Albert A. James on September 17, 1966 also of San Francisco. A 1942 graduate of Shelby Senior High School, Medrith enjoyed many activities in life. She loved waterskiing, bowling, bridge, golfing, knitting, sewing and trips home to Ohio. Medrith obtained her formal education at Columbus Business College and worked her way across the country to California. She ended her career by assisting her sister, Rosalyn, who was a court reporter.

She was preceded in death by: her husband, Albert A. James on February 7, 2010; a brother, Edwin Brown; sisters, Rosalyn Ronald, Dr. Evelyn Lavery, Leota (William) Hathorn; two nephews, one niece, and best friend, Hilda Ann Reiff Enders.

Medrith is survived by her brother Dr. Harold Tway and Pat Brown of Sugar Grove, Ohio; in-laws, Thomas Lavery of Akron, Faye Brown of Shelby, niece and namesake Medrith Brown of St. George, Utah, 4 other nieces, 7 nephews, 31 great nieces and nephews, and 34 great great nieces and nephews all of whom are scattered throughout the country.

Services were held at the United Methodist Church in St. George, Utah. Graveside services will be held at Lust Cemetery, 6003 State Route 4, Chatfield, Ohio, on Saturday, April 13, 2013 at 11 AM. Her niece, Major Alice Hathorn, will officiate. Care is being provided by the Turner Funeral Home in Shelby.
