Marian L. Coleman
Marian Lucille Coleman, age 92, of Shelby, died Saturday, March 31, 2018 at Blake Medical Center in Bradenton, Florida. She and her husband, Paul, have spent their winters in Bradenton for the last 30 years.
Marian was born March 23, 1926 in Elyria, Ohio to the late Hugh and Lucille (Bauer) Kirkbride. She graduated from Elyria High School and Berea School of Business. She received her R.N. from St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Dayton, Ohio. After graduation Marian was a nurse at Berea Community Hospital and later Shelby Memorial Hospital and Crestwood Care Center.
Marian married her life partner Paul V. Coleman, who survives her, on November 27, 1954. Together they settled in Shelby, Ohio and raised nine children. A person of deep faith, Marian was a member of the Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church.
Her children, who will miss her warm smile, her laugh, and sense of humor, all survive her: Kenneth Coleman, Mary (Russell) Bird, John (Kyle) Coleman, Margaret (Bob) Brockhage, Paul (Stacy) Coleman, Jane (Mark) Lowery, Joseph Coleman, Rosemary (Thomas) Sweeney, and Suzanne (Gregory) Floyd.
Marian’s greatest joy was her grandchildren, who also survive: William (Teresa), Katherine, Kenneth; Lori (Andrew), Steven, Ryan (Mindy); Sam, Tim; Rachel (Andy), Matthew, John, Joshua; Hannah, McKenna, Alex; Michael, Madeline, Allison; Joseph, Patrick, Claire; Emily, Erica, and Elinor; and her great grandchildren: Cecilia, Lilly, Alexander, Isabella, and Ava.
She was preceded in death, in addition to her parents, by a brother, Robert Kirkbride, and a sister, Rita Moinet.
Family and friends are welcome on Friday, April 6, 2018 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the Turner Funeral Home, 168 West Main Street, Shelby, where a rosary will be recited at 7:45 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, April 7, 2018 at 10:30 am at Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 29 West Street, Shelby. Fr. Chris Mileski will officiate and burial will follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial expressions may be made to the Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church or St. Mary School.

It has been a difficult time losing Agnes, MaryAnn, Madeline and now Marian. We all share the sorrow of losing our beautiful aunts. They were true mothers with their kind and loving ways.
