Manda P. (Brown) Williams

Manda P. (Brown) Williams, age 81, of Newark, Ohio, died Sunday, November 3, 2013.

Manda was born June 7, 1932 in Elliott County, Kentucky, the daughter of the late William and Eliza Jane (Crisp) Brown.  A homemaker her entire life, Manda enjoyed crocheting, and loved watching westerns, antiquing and going to auctions and garage sales.

She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Amos Williams,  whom she wed on June 27, 1951; a daughter: Jeanette (Steve) Alkire of Heath, OH; 2 grandchildren: Nicholas Hester and Amanda Hester; a step granddaughter: Katie (Paul) Holcomb; 2 great grandchildren: Kianna Hester and Aniyah Hester; 2 step great grandchildren: Lily Holcomb and Dakota Holcomb; a brother Paul (Jewell) Brown of Shelby; a sister-in-law: Winnajean Brown of Fairborn, OH; Nieces and nephews including James (Marguerite) Hudson of Mansfield.

She was preceded in death by 4 brothers: Oliver, Elbert, Homer and Charles Brown; 2 sisters: Julia Carpenter and Oma Markwell.

Family and friends are welcome on Wednesday, November 6, 2013 from 6-8 PM at the Turner Funeral Home, 168 West Main Street, Shelby. Special services that evening will begin at 7 PM.

Funeral services will be on Thursday at 10:30 AM at the funeral home conducted by Elder Jim Curry and Elder Delmas Hall. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery in Shelby.

    My prayers and condolence goes to the Brown and Williams family. Ms. Manda lived a fulfilled life indeed. I Hope all family members and friends find comfort in Jehovah Gods message found in John 5:28, 29. According to Jehovah’s promise, Ms. Manda, though sleeping in death, has the hope of the resurrection to enjoy life again on this same earth (Ecclesiastes 1:4; Psalms 104:5).
