Mabel Wilson, age 95, a long time Shelby resident, died Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at Magnolia Terrace in Galion.
She was born December 25, 1922 in Vernon Township, Crawford County, Ohio the daughter of the late Emery and Ethel (Magers) Eckstein. Mabel was a 1941 graduate of Tiro High School and attended Mansfield Business College. She was an executive secretary at Quanex in Shelby and retired from there after 37 ½ years of service. Mabel was a member of Calvary United Church of Christ in Crestline and the Shelby American Legion Ladies Auxiliary.
Mabel is survived by 2 grandsons: Eric (Dr. Kimberly Wilcox) White of Granville, OH and Aaron White of Lexington, OH; a great granddaughter: Brennah White; a brother: Harmon Eckstein of Tiro; a sister-in-law: Betty Eckstein of Galion; and nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: her husband of 63 years, Howard Paul Wilson, on June 11, 2005; her daughter, Karen White, on December 31, 2014; and a brother: Ross Eckstein.
Family and friends are welcome on Monday, April 23, 2018 from 10-11 am at the Turner Funeral Home, 168 West Main Street, Shelby where funeral services will follow at 11 am. Rev. Gary Proietti will officiate and burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery in Shelby.
