M. Kathleen “Kathy” (Workman) Tallman
M. Kathleen “Kathy” (Workman) Tallman, age 78, of Shiloh, died Tuesday, May 12, 2015 at the home of her daughter.
She was born June 2, 1936 in Shelby the daughter of the late Floyd and Opal R. (Adams) Workman. Kathy was a 1954 graduate of Shelby High School. She was a licensed insurance agent with Prudential in Mansfield and an Ohio Notary. She was an active member of Mt. Hope Lutheran Church in Shiloh where she sang in the choir. Kathy was a member of the Red Hat Society and Shiloh Garden Club. She enjoyed the time she shared with her daughter Angie, traveling around the area teaching classes on homemade soaps and lotions. Kathy liked playing cards at the Shelby Community and Senior Center and taking trips with the Huron Senior Center. She especially enjoyed a trip she took to Ireland last fall.
Kathy is survived by her children: Doug Tallman of Greenwich and Angie (Lanny) Seaman of Shiloh; 5 grandchildren: Heather Tallman (Henry Shepherd), Jason (Nicole) Tallman, Lance (Kristin) Seaman, Tyler (Alicia) Seaman, Logan Seaman (Maya Wisdom); 7 great grandchildren; a sister: Bunny Simpson of Willard. She was preceded in death by her dad: Floyd Workman in 1940; her mother: Opal R. Workman Whatman in 1995; her stepdad: John Whatman in 1983; her husband: Richard Tallman in 2006; and a sister: Ethel Foti.
Family and friends are welcome on Sunday, May 17, 2015 from 12 Noon – 2 PM at the pavilion located on the property of her daughter at 8128 Planktown North Road, Shiloh where a service will be conducted at 2 PM by her grandson, Lance Seaman. Memorial expressions may be made to Mt. Hope Lutheran Church, 29 W Main St, Shiloh, OH 44878. Care for Kathy and her family is being provided by Bob, Catherine, and Jake at Turner Funeral Home in Shelby.

That big Firestone House will not be the same without you Kathy! I remember when you and Dick moved there. I often wondered if you would know where Doug and Angie were in there. It seemed so big. You always had an open door for the people in Shiloh. Always smiling! Hugs to your Family as they go through this time of grieving. You just started your journey in a new chapter of your life. Heaven accepted a beautiful angel. Rest in peace Mrs. Tallman, you will never be forgotten!

Sorry for the lose of your dear mother Kathy. She and Dick were in our Amway group years ago and were near and dear to our hearts.
My Dear Friend Angie – It’s been so many years since I have seen you or your mom, but I will never forget her welcoming smile and engaging personality. I so loved coming to your house to find Mrs. Tallman there in the office ushering us into your home. What fun we had! It sounds as though you and your mom continued to have some very special times together. I know from my own recent experience this is a very hard time. So, please accept this virtual warm hug for you and your whole family.
Kathy was such a lovely person. I so enjoyed being in ecumenical gatherings with her–what a beautiful voice!! Please accept my sympathy.
I will never be able to sit at Mt Hope, listen to the choir, and not hear your beautiful soprano voice. Heaven gained another angel for thir heavenly choir. I look forward to hearing you sing again someday. Rest in peace

We are so very sorry to learn of Kathy’s death. I remember talking to her at our last class party, and as others have mentioned, she had an amazing smile. Our sympathy to the family. She will be missed.
Angie I am so sorry to hear of the passing of your Mother. I always enjoyed her when she helped in the soap/lotion making classes I took. She will always be with you in your heart and memories. Will keep you and your family in my prayers.

Dear Angie, Doug, Bunnie and family…so sorry for the loss of your sweet Kathy. She was a very special lady. She was one of us LMI girls that loved the day trips and lunches and she will be missed.
While I wasn’t too surprised to hear this news the other day, it was still a sad day . . . for the Tallman family (obviously) as well as the entire community of Shiloh. She will be missed. (And that is a wonderful photo of Kathy!)
Growing up, I sat through decades worth of Grange meetings with Kathy and Dick. More recently our family typically watched the annual Ox Roast parade from the church lawn right across the street from the Tallman’s. Their front porch was always packed, with lots of the happy faces enjoying the festivities. What great memories of their caring, loving home on Main Street and Kathy’s amazing life. What great memories I have of your mom. When last we saw each other at my Dad’s funeral she was ever so kind and caring. She even remembered singing in the chior wit me at Mt. Hope. What a beautiful, caring, and giving woman she was. My deepest condolances to Doug, Angie and their families. God Bless you all.
