Luther T. Baker

Luther T. Baker, age 81, of Shelby, died Thursday, April 19, 2018 at The Good Shepherd in Ashland.

Luther was born November 12, 1936 in Portsmouth, Ohio to the late Robert Luther and Nona (Ramey) Baker. He was a veteran of the United States Armed Forces serving during the Korean War. Luther worked his entire career at General Motors in Ontario and retired in 1993. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing.

Luther is survived by 3 sons: Ron Baker of Ashland, Gordon (Janet) Baker of Medina, Daniel (June) Baker of Shiloh; 8 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; a sister: Marilyn Jones of Seattle, WA; and a brother: Robert Gary (Maria) Baker of New Castle, Delaware. In addition to his parents, Luther was preceded in death by his wife, Gertrude “Judy” (Kapfenberger) Baker, whom he wed on August 11, 1956 and preceded him in death on May 26, 2004, and 8 brothers and sisters.

At Luther’s request, calling hours and funeral services will not be observed. Burial will be private in Little London Cemetery, Shelby. Care for Luther and his family is being provided by Bob, Catherine, and Jake at the Turner Funeral Home in Shelby.
