Luke Ray Newswanger

Luke Ray Newswanger, age 13 years, 9 months, and 4 days, of Shelby, died Sunday morning, December 5, 2021 following a bicycle/automobile collision on Bowman Street Road.

Luke Ray was born on March 1, 2008 in Shelby to Clair Z. and Annetta N. (Burkholder) Newswanger. He attended Springmill Old Order Mennonite Church.

In addition to his parents, Luke Ray is survived by his three brothers: Daryl (Vivian) Newswanger of Little Falls, NY, Lavern Newswanger, and Nelson Newswanger both at home; six sisters: Rosene (LeeAllen) Hoover of Plymouth, Janelle (Rufus) Zimmerman of Shiloh, Marilyn Newswanger, Linda Newswanger, Joanne Newswanger, and Lucille Newswanger all at home; niece: Kayla Newswanger; maternal grandparents: Ammon and Erma Burkholder of Shiloh; and paternal grandparents: Reuben and Ella Newswanger of Shelby. Luke Ray was preceded in death by a niece and a nephew.

Family and friends are welcome on Wednesday, December 8, 2021 from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm at the family home, 3917 Bowman Street Road, Shelby. Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 9, 2021 at 9:30 am at Springmill Old Order Mennonite Church, Dininger Road, Shelby. Bishop Alvin Hoover will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery.
