Lucy Ann Armstrong

Lucy Ann Armstrong, age 89, of Mansfield, died Friday, March 31, 2017 at her home.

Lucy was born April 14, 1927 in Salyersville, Magoffin County, KY, the daughter of the late Kelli and Ranie (Arnette) Howard. She was a homemaker.  A true woman of God and servant of the Lord, Lucy was a member of Breath of Life Church in Mansfield where she was currently the mother of the church. Prior to Breath of Life Church she was a 51 year active member of Journey Life Center where she held numerous positions and had received a lifetime achievement award for her dedicated service to the Lord and the church. She was a sincere prayer warrior and intercessor.

Survivors include: 4 children: Johhny T. Stone of Galion, Duane Stone of Galion, Pamela E. Best of Mansfield, and Rev. Michael Stone of Mansfield; 8 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren; and a sister in law: Judy Howard of Dearborn, MI. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband: John Stone in 1986; her second husband: Frederick Armstrong in 2001; 5 brothers: Mitchell, Sam, Harris, Johnny, and Jimmy Howard; and 5 sisters: Lilly Miller, Queen Smith, Sally Jones, Virgie Harness, and Louise Pierce.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 5, 2017 at 1 pm at Breath of Life Church, 77 N. Walker Avenue, Mansfield, with Rev. James Watkins, Rev. Dr. Bruce Phillipi, and Rev. Michael Stone, her son, officiating. Family and friends are welcome to visit two hours prior to the service, from 11 am-1 pm. Burial will follow in Mansfield Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Breath of Life Church.

    I love you so much u met the world to me you were our rock n our family…I dunno were I’d b without ur prayers, I had the privilege of knowing you for 28 yrs…There’s no doubt n my mind that u are shouting right now on the streets of gold with the lord, I’ve cherished the moment’s we have had together n laughs
    I couldn’t ask for a better grandma…
    No matter how I felt or what I’ve gone threw u was always there for me lifting me up n prayer so many words I wish I could of said before u passed… But i no now ur in no more pain n ur prolly sitting talking to grandpa Johnny n grandpa Fred..I love you so much n im going to miss you n miss coming to ur house playing Upwords n chinese checkers n Uno…Rest in heaven

    Dear Stone family -I can still see Lucy’s smile and hear her singing “Satisfied” in my memory. Her’s was one of the first faces my parents saw when they came to pastor at the old Roseland COG (now Journey Life Center).
