Lois Stamper Armstrong
Lois Stamper Armstrong, age, 87, of Shelby, died Saturday, November 22, 2014 at Shelby Pointe.
She was born November 21, 1927 in Elliot County, Wyett, Kentucky the daughter of the late William and Vada (Brown) Stamper. She was employed for 33 years at Quanex in Shelby retiring in 1977. After her retirement there, she worked for 14 years at L & K Restaurant in Shelby. She was a member of Church of God in Jesus Name in Plymouth. Lois enjoyed traveling.
Lois is survived by her Husband of 69 years, Junior Armstrong, whom she wed on October 6, 1945; a son: Dennis Armstrong (Nicole Johnston) of Mansfield; 7 grandchildren; 1 step grandchild; numerous great grandchildren; 2 sisters: Goldie Wireman of Plymouth and Della Stepp of Shelby; a brother: David Stamper of Howard. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Diana Hopkins in 2012, 2 brothers: Dallas Stamper and Clifford Stamper and a half-sister: Cathy.
Friends and family are welcome on Monday, 6-8 PM November 24, 2014 at the Turner Funeral Home, 168 West Main Street, Shelby, where funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday at 1 PM by Rev. Robert O’Brian, pastor of the Apostolic Faith Assembly Church in Mansfield. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery in Shelby. Memorial expressions may be made to Apostolic Faith Assembly Church.

To the family…..I am sorry for your loss. She was such a sweet lady and was always so wonderful to me when I was part of the Stamper family. Take good care of her Dallas. Rest in peace Aunt Lois. God bless

I helped care for Lois at Shelby Pointe. Such a wonderful lady with the kindest spirit and lovely smile. My heart and condolences go out to Junior, and the rest of the family and friends. I’m so glad I had the pleasure to know her. She will be greatly missed.
