Lawrence C. “Larry” Shorter
Lawrence C. “Larry” Shorter, age 80, of Mansfield, died Monday, July 16, 2018 at his home.
He was born March 9, 1938 in Princeton, West Virginia the son of the late Homer W. and Retis (Coburn) Shorter. Larry retired from the “Tuby” in Shelby after 37 ½ years of service. His hobbies included fishing, listening to his scanner and talking on his CB radio where his handle was “Bugs Bunny”. Larry loved meeting and talking to people – he never met a stranger.
On May 9, 1957 Larry married Clara A. (Fidler) Shorter and she preceded him in death on August 2, 2017.
Larry is survived by 2 children: Terryann (TJ) Militello of Mansfield and Lawrence Lee Shorter (Peggy Starr) of Shelby; 2 grandchildren: Bryant Shorter and Andrea Militello; 3 great grandchildren: Jordan Shaffer, Devin Flick and Addison Bisel; 2 brothers: Lloyd (Kay) Shorter of Pennsylvania and Lewis (Linda) Shorter of Shelby; 2 sisters-in-law: Anna Ward of Mansfield and Diane (Ken) Harmon of Sheffield Lake.
Family and friends are welcome on Thursday, July 19, 2018 from 10-11AM at the Turner Funeral Home, 168 West Main Street, Shelby where funeral services will be held at 11 AM with Rev. Dr. Jim Carder officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery in Shiloh.

God seen you were tired but kept trying to be so strong for everyone. Just knowing you are pain free and rejoicing with your heavenly family brings peace to out hearts even though you will be missed here on earth.
