Larry G. Jennings

Larry G. Jennings, age 83, longtime Shelby resident, died early Tuesday morning, August 1, 2023 at Venetian Gardens in Loveland where he resided.
Larry was born June 28, 1940 in Rowan County, KY to the late Silas and Elizabeth (Workman) Jennings. His hobbies were extensive as he loved to mow the lawn, was an outstanding gardener, and enjoyed going fishing and hunting. He adored children, watched many westerns and WWE matches on TV, and was constantly collecting aluminum cans. Although Larry could be very opinionated, strangers did not exist in his world as he enjoyed talking with people. For many, Larry was easily recognized riding his bike all over with his most admirable and consistent voyage being to the nursing home to visit his mom and care for her.
Larry is survived by his sister and his niece, his caregivers, Audra McLean of Goshen, OH and Sheila Ressler Shaw of Lynchburg, OH and numerous other nieces, nephews, stepsiblings, other relatives, and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Juanita Fitzpatrick, and brother, Jerry Jennings.
Family and friends are welcome on Sunday, August 6, 2023 from 2-3 pm at the Penwell Turner Funeral Home, 168 West Main Street, Shelby, where funeral services will immediately follow at 3 pm with Pastor Ben Carver officiating. Additionally, visitation will be on Wednesday, August 9, 2023 from 11am-12 noon at Northcutt and Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, KY 47351. Graveside services at Baldridge Cemetery will immediately follow the visitation with Pastor Johnny Hatfield officiating. Our Deepest sympathy for your loss
My deepest sympathies to Larry’s family. I remember him stopping by on his bicycle to visit my dad, Glenn Wallace, at his garage in Little London. Larry would stop almost every day to visit awhile. My family all have wonderful memories of seeing Larry riding down the roads on his bike.
