Kay M. Reed
Kay M. Reed, age 78, of Shelby, died Saturday morning, August 6, 2022 at her home.
Kay was born May 31, 1944 in Mansfield, Richland County, Ohio to the late Kenneth and Luceil (Feazel) Trumpower. She was a 1962 graduate of Union Local High School and had been employed with Shelby Mutual Insurance until its closing.
Kay is survived by her husband of 26 years, David E. Reed, whom she married June 3, 1996; children: Lisa (Michael) Steiner of Columbus and James (Tammy) Wentz of Shelby; grandchildren: Christina (Michael) Dew, Jennifer Steiner (fiancé, Devin Adams), Brice Steiner, and Cole Wentz; and sisters: Sandy (Ed) Miller of Shelby, Bobette (Dick) Dudley of Shennandoah, and Jeri (Bill) Sutter of Horse Cave, KY.
Family and friends are welcome on Saturday, August 13, 2022 at 11 am at Ganges Cemetery, Shelby-Ganges Road, Ganges, Ohio for graveside services officiated by Hospice of North Central Ohio (HNCO) Chaplain Reggie Cureton. I was blessed to get to work with Kay when we were both working at Rite Aid…never a dull moment with Kay around…she had us laughing all the time..so sorry to hear of her passing..she was definitely a gem!

To Kay’s Family, I am so sorry for your loss as she was so full of life. I worked with Kay at Shelby Mutual (IPBS) and I share so many good times along with our co-workers during work and certainly after work hours. I laugh now as I think back on the good times we had back then. May she rest in peace now as I know she will be missed by so many. Keeping all of you in our thoughts and prayers.

I too remember Kay from the mutual but most recently I was honored to care for her during her hospital stays. She usually ended giving me advice She rarely complained and worried about everyone besides herself. I will miss her
