June Rosalie James
June Rosalie James, age 88, of Shelby died Thursday, November 15, 2018 at her home.
She was born February 6, 1930 in Berea, Ohio the daughter of the late Clement A. and Gladys Esther (Burns) Hohler. June was a 1948 graduate of Shelby High School. She was a member of Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church where she was a member of the choir and Altar Rosary Society and was a longtime member of TOPS. June devoted her life to be a mother and grandmother. She will always be remembered for her sense of humor, her unconditional love and for her knack for making family gatherings special and memorable. June leaves a legacy in her family who survive and all the lives she touched.
June is survived by her 5 children: Diane Claypool of Shelby, Nancy (Chuck) Thomas of Florence, SC, Steve (Brenda) James of Shelby, Bill (Mary) James of Henryville, IN, and Barbara (Steve) Graham of Louisville, KY; 7 grandchildren: Jim Claypool, Jessica (Raymond) Day, Andrea (Brandon) Eshelman, Billy J. (Clelie) Royse, Beau (Tiffany) James, Paul James (Fiancé: Haylee Kahler) and Stevie Graham; 10 great grandchildren: Joel, Jaden, and Micalah Claypool, Evelyn and Bryant Day, Lincoln and Thatcher Eshelman, Liam, Everett, and August Royse; a great great granddaughter: Finley Claypool; 2 sisters: Alice Hodges of Redding, CA and Mary (John) Ehmann of Bucyrus.
On April 15, 1950 she married the love of her life, Floyd Marshall James, Jr. and he preceded her in death on May 5, 2010. Also preceding her in death were a son: David Marshal James in 1975; Brothers: Buddy Hohler, James J. Hohler, Clement A. “Fritz” Hohler, Jr.; Son-in-law: Jerry Claypool; Daughter-in-law: Sandy (Brown) James Miller.
Family and friends are welcome on Sunday, November 18, 2018 from 2-4 PM at PENWELL TURNER FUNERAL HOME, 168 West Main Street, Shelby where funeral services will be held on Monday, November 19, 2018 at 10:30 AM conducted by Father Chris Mileski. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery in Shelby. Memorial expressions may be made to OhioHealth Hospice.
