Judy C. Workman

Judy C. Workman, age 82, of Shelby, died Sunday, January 14, 2024 at OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital following complications from a fall.

Judy was born August 7, 1941 in Shelby to the late Carl E. and Margaret L. (Zimmerman) Post. A 1959 graduate of Shelby High School, Judy spent her 40-year career at Shelby Mutual Insurance Company as a data entry operator until her retirement upon the Mutual’s closing. Throughout her life Judy enjoyed volunteering at Shelby Hospital, Heritage Care Center, and at her church, Awake Church, where she also assisted with MOPS. When her grandchildren were young, she enjoyed being able to watch them, but certainly always enjoyed their company. Judy always wanted and liked a spotless yard at her home and especially enjoyed daily trips to McDonalds to visit with friends.

Judy is survived by her son and daughter-in-law: Scot and Karen Workman; grandchildren: Amanda (Glenn) Bond, Allison Workman, and Eric Workman; great granddaughter: Marlee Bond; and her companion and special friend: John Cole. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Cecil R. Workman on December 22, 2009; and grandsons: Karl Scott Workman in 1995 and Jason Aaron Workman in 2002.

Family and friends are welcome on Wednesday, January 17, 2024 from 4-7 pm at the Penwell Turner Funeral Home, 168 West Main Street, Shelby. Funeral services will be on Thursday, January 18, 2024 at 10:30 am at Awake Church, 3616 State Route 39, Shelby, Ohio 44875 with Pastor Rita Bullock officiating.
