Judith Ann “Judy” Craley

Judith Ann “Judy” Craley, age 77, of Shelby, died Monday evening, February 16, 2015 at her home.

 

Judy was born May 20, 1937 in Shelby, the daughter of the late Arthur and Anna (Sines) Conklin. She was a 1956 graduate of Shelby High School. Judy was a wonderful caregiver having worked for several years as an STNA at Heritage Care Center and then at First Assembly of God Daycare. She had been a member at Trinity United Methodist Church in Shelby and was currently a member of Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Mansfield. She had taught Sunday school for several years. Judy enjoyed gardening and was a member of the Garden Club. She loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

 

On September 5, 1959 she married Kenneth A. Craley and he survives. Also surviving are 3 children: Stephen Craley of Blacklick, Ohio, Sharon (Timothy) Layland of Shelby, Suzanne (Kevin) Metzger of Westerville, Ohio; 5 grandchildren: Nathan (fiancé, Jessica Miller) Craley, Kimberly Gheen, Christopher Metzger, John (Ashley) Miller, Ryan Metzger; 9 great grandchildren; a brother-in-law: Frederick (Cathy) Craley of Granville, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Judy was preceded in death by 3 siblings: Adrian Conklin, Marietta V. Conklin, and Jeanette Hout.

 

Family and friends are welcome on Wednesday, February 18, 2015 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the Turner Funeral Home, 168 West Main Street, Shelby where funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11 AM with Rev. Dr. Edna Stahl officiating. Burial will follow in Iberia Cemetery. A reception for guests will be held at Trinity United Methodist Church in Shelby at the conclusion of the graveside services. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of North Central Ohio or the American Cancer Society.
