Penwell Turner Funeral Home - Shelby, Ohio

Joshua James Lucius

Joshua James Lucius, longtime Shelby resident, currently working and residing in Vermont, passed away after a brief and unexpected illness at Clark Regional Medical Center in Winchester, Kentucky on Saturday, April 1, 2023. He was 38.

Josh was born on June 22, 1984 in Shelby and had worked as a truck driver. He loved his job and life in Vermont, always talking about the beautiful scenery and views. This fit perfectly with Josh’s passion for being outdoors- especially fishing and hunting. He also enjoyed cooking, particularly the game that he caught.

Josh was survived by his parents: Dennis and Jamie Lucius of Shelby; children: Alexis, Cadin, and Kyleigh Lucius; brother: Bobby Lucius; his grandparents with whom Josh held a close relationship: Robert J. and the late Sandra Kay Lucius; uncle: Tim Lucius; aunt: Lorri (Sonny) Bragg; special great aunt: Gretchen Robertson; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Services for Josh will be held privately with his family and burial will be in Oakland Cemetery, Shelby. Care for the Lucius family is being provided by the Penwell Turner Funeral Home, 168 West Main Street, Shelby.

Condolences may be made on Josh’s obituary on the funeral home’s website, www.PenwellTurner.com, or their Facebook page, www.Facebook.com/PenwellFuneral

  8. Olivia says:

I’m his niece Olivia Lucius. The last time me and him talked it was a fight, I miss him so much everyday. Josh wasn’t just my Uncle he was my best friend. It kills me that I was told he passed a few months after it happened. My mom told me and it hurt but I didn’t show it. I need my Uncle in my life, It hurts everyday and I didn’t even get the chance to say goodbye. I was never invited to his funeral even tho I’m his niece.
