John Michael Roth
John Michael Roth, age 58, of Shelby, died Sunday, May 23, 2021 at OhioHealth Marion General Hospital.
John was born April 10, 1963 in Shelby to James Alan and Constance Jean (Oates) Roth. He was a 1981 graduate of Shelby High School and Pioneer Joint Vocational School. John had worked for John’s Auto Parts for several years prior to spending the majority of his career in various departments for the City of Shelby, retiring in 2016 from the Line Department. He also was a volunteer firefighter for the Shelby Fire Department.
John loved anything outside and was known for his meticulously cared for lawn. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, and baseball and also liked traveling.
John is survived by his wife, Dr. Theresa Ann (Driscoll) Roth, whom he wed on September 14, 1985; his mother: Connie Roth of Shelby; brother and sister: Jerry (Lynnette) Roth of Shelby and Jodi Korbas (Christina Downs) of Columbus; his mother-in-law: Barbara Driscoll of Shelby; in-laws: Patricia Sponseller of Seattle, WA, Beth Driscoll of Shelby, and Commander Jim Driscoll (fiancé, Edy) of Poquoson, VA; 12 nieces and nephews: Nikki (Curt) Keller, Ali (Doug) Weltmer, Ashleigh Roth, Rachael (Jake) Alfrey, Konnor Korbas, Kody Korbas, Lesley Mayorga, Hannah (Jas) Burks, Denver Burks, Lauren Driscoll, Anna Driscoll, and James Driscoll; an aunt: Judy (Rich) Messner; and numerous other relatives and friends. His father, James Alan Roth, and father-in-law, James Driscoll, preceded him in death.
Family and friends are welcome to attend a life celebration gathering on Thursday, May 27, 2021 from 4-7 pm at the Shelby Crossing Golf Course and Event Center pavilion, 3885 Laser Road, Shelby. Please come in casual dress. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Harmony House, 124 W 3rd Street, Mansfield, Ohio 44902 or to the Shelby Foundation, 142 North Gamble Street, Shelby, Ohio 44875 specifically for the Shelby Y Endowment Fund.
