Jason L. “Jake” Housholder

Jason L. “Jake” Housholder, age 84, of Shelby, died Friday, December 13, 2013 at Mifflin Care Center.

 He was born August 10, 1929 in Jeromesville, Ohio the son of the late Lawrence J. and Goldie (McQuate) Householder. Jake retired from Tech Form Industries in Shelby and after his retirement he worked as a security guard at Central Ohio Industrial Park and ArcelorMittal.

Jake loved to fish on his pontoon boat and travel. Jake was an army veteran of the Korean War and was a member of the VFW, Eagles and Owls.

Jake is survived by 2 sisters: Ruth (Kenneth) Bowman of Rowsburg, OH and Carolyn (Alvin) Kitts of Ashland; His best friend who he thought of as a brother: Dale (Darlene) Jenkins of Shelby; Nieces and nephews; a step son-in-law: Robert Smith of Shelby; and a sister-in-law: Sally Ann Householder of Ashland. He was preceded in death by his wife: Mary (Champion) Housholder in 2004; a step daughter: Cheryl Smith; 2 brothers: Dwight and Wade Householder and a sister: Betty Miller.

 Friends and family are welcome on Thursday, December 19, 2013 from Noon-1PM at the Turner Funeral Home, 168 West Main Street, Shelby where funeral services will be conducted at 1 PM by Rev. O. Douglas Tackett, Pastor of Taylortown Community Church. Military honors will be conducted by the Joint Veterans Burial Detail. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery in Shelby. In lieu of flowers, memorial expressions may be made to Med Central Hospice.
