James Lenville “Jim” Kegley

James Lenville “Jim” Kegley, age 69, of Lucas, passed away peacefully on Tuesday morning, March 19, 2024 at his home surrounded by family he loved and cherished.  His death follows a lengthy and valiant battle with cancer.

Jim was born March 14, 1955 in Shelby to the late Kenneth Earl and Mary Frances (Lewis) Kegley.  A 1973 graduate of Shelby High School, Jim retired following a 40-year career at the Tuby in Shelby in 2016 under the ArcelorMittal ownership. A member of Hillside First Church of God in Mansfield, Jim’s life was forever changed when he was born again and accepted Jesus as his personal Lord and Savior. His passion in life outside of his family and friends included golfing and fishing.

Jim is survived by his wife, Lisa (Steagall) Kegley; children: Michelle (Brad) Porter of Lucas, Lorelei Caudill of California, and Brandon Caudell of Tiffin; grandchildren: Haley (Josh) Shutt, Malachi Fisher, Rayden Caudill, Layla Porter, Gabriel Porter, Landen Caudell, Jordyn Caudell, and Scarlett Caudell; siblings: Dennis (Mary) Kegley, Jack Kegley, and Sandra (Jerry) Martin; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his granddaughter: Isabella Caudell; brothers: Gary Kegley and Ronnie Kegley; sister: Rosemary Kegley; sister-in-law: Alma Kegley; in-laws; Cheryl and Sherman Brown, Eugene and Phyllis Felty, and Ray Hanna.

Family and friends are welcome on Saturday, March 23, 2024 from 11 am–1 pm at the Penwell Turner Funeral Home, 168 West Main Street, Shelby, Ohio 44875, where funeral services will immediately follow at 1 pm. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery. Pastor Glenn Phillips, Pastor of Hillside First Church of God, will officiate the services. Memorial contributions may be made to the church, 2369 Bowman Street, Mansfield, Ohio 44903.
