Gladys Pauline (McGinnis) Myers

Gladys Pauline Myers, age 96, of Shelby, died Friday, February 27, 2015 at the Crestwood Care Center in Shelby.

She was born February 24, 1919 in Heath, Ohio the daughter of the late Daniel and Harriet (Moose) McGinnis. Mrs. Myers was a former employee of The Peoples Store and The Fashion Shop both in Shelby. She also helped her husband Marlin on their family farm. Gladys was a member of First Lutheran Church in Shelby. In her younger years, she was a 4-H advisor for many years, was a member of a mothers club and Piecemakers Quiltters Club. Gladys was an accomplished seamstress and enjoyed china painting and making dolls.

Mrs. Myers is survived by her children: Judy (Jacque) Hoover, Dean (Gail) Myers, and Larry Myers all of Shelby; her grandchildren: Kimberly Hale, Gary (Jodi) Myers, Kelley Blankenship, Nikki Myers,  Heidi (Kevin) Alt, JR Hoover, Julie (Jim) Chambers, Jody (Steve) Yockey, Tera (Greg) Rouse; 22 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband: Marlin W. Myers in 1995; a sister: Mary Fuchs; 2 brothers and their wives: Frank (Lois) McGinnis and Dan (Gerry) McGinnis; a granddaughter-in-law: Reba Hoover.

Family and friends are welcome on Tuesday, March 3, 2015 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the Turner Funeral Home, 168 West Main Street, Shelby where funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday at 10:30 AM by Pastor Russel Yoak. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery in Shelby. Memorial expressions may be made to First Lutheran Church Endowment Fund or Hospice of North Central Ohio.
