Frances M. D’Avanzo

Frances M. D’Avanzo, age 89, died Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at the Crestwood Care Center in Shelby. Mrs. D’Avanzo lived in Connecticut, Maine, and Wyoming before moving to Shelby in recent years to be closer to family.

Frances was born September 20, 1928 in Greenwich, Connecticut, the daughter of the late George James and Helen (Gardella) Wright. She had been employed at Yield House, a high-end furniture store in Connecticut. She loved her horses and Great Danes.

Survivors include: 3 grandchildren: Suzi D’Avanzo of Mansfield, Alfred John D’Avanzo, III of Shelby, and Gil D’Avanzo of Mt. Gilead; 2 great grandchildren: Mykala Thatcher and Nickoli D’Avanzo; 1 great great granddaughter: Mia Severns; and a brother: George Wright. IN addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Alfred John D’Avanzo, Sr.; her son: Alfred John D’Avanzo, Jr.; a brother: John Wright; and a sister: Eleanor Wright Turner.
