Esther Rosetta Dake
Esther Rosetta Dake, age 96, of Shelby, died Saturday, July 25, 2020 at Crestwood Care Center.
Esther was born on January 5, 1924 in Columbus, Ohio to the late Emil and Zephyr (Hord) Price. She graduated from North Fairfield High School. Esther and her late husband traveled the world extensively and would bring back all sorts of trinkets for their nieces and nephews.
On April 15, 1951 Esther married Ray L. Dake and he preceded her in death in 1995. In addition to her husband and parents, Esther was also preceded in death by her two sisters; Mildred L. Page and Hazel Gray; and her nieces: Jan Eichinger and Diane Lambert. Survivors include her niece: Carol Barber of Shelby; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Family and friends are welcome to attend graveside services for Esther on Tuesday, July 28, 2020 at 11 am in Oakland Cemetery, Shelby. Rev. Jeffrey R. Croft from Trinity United Methodist Church, where Esther was a member will officiate.

So sorry to hear this news. I enjoyed visiting her in her home and at Crestwood doing sensory activities she would join us. She loved her cat and would tell me about her sisters.
My family lived beside Ray and Esther Dake when I was a small child. I remember my sister and I each being given a gift from the Dake’s, metal trash cans with cats on it. I used it for many years, I wish I still had it. I remember how kind Esther was.
