Ervin M. Burkholder

Ervin M. Burkholder, age 72 years, 1 month, 11 days, of Greenwich, Ohio passed away on Wednesday, January 6, 2016 at his home following a short illness.

Ervin was born November 26, 1943 in New Holland, Pennsylvania, the son of the late Paul and Leah (Martin) Burkholder. He was a member of Country View Mennonite Church, Groffdale Conference.

He is survived by his wife, Emma H. (Weaver) Burkholder and they were married 50 years, 11 months, 22 days. Also surviving are 4 sons and 6 daughters: Elva (Jason) Oberholtzer of Willard, OH, Eunice (Eli) Weaver of Leola, PA, Marian (Aaron) Hoover of Greenwich, OH, Mark (Katie) Burkholder of Lititz, PA, Leon (Vera) Burkholder of Greenwich, OH, Ellen (Leroy) Oberholtzer of Greenwich, OH, Lillian (Samuel) Zimmerman of Shiloh, OH, Ervin Jr. (Crystal) Burkholder of Greenwich, OH, Paul (Dorcas) Burkholder of Greenwich, OH, Joann (Moses) Sensenig of Shiloh, OH; 47 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; a brother: Lloyd (Esther) Burkholder of Ephrata, PA; 5 sisters: Etta Nolt of Shippensburg, PA, Ida (David) Zimmerman of Williamsburg, PA, Lydia (Marvin) Sensenig of Shippensburg, PA, Lena (Earl) Zimmerman of Plymouth, OH, and Naomi (Lester) Newswanger of Shiloh, OH.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, a brother-in-law, and 2 great grandchildren.

Family and friends are welcome on Sunday, January 10, 2016 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the family home, 3850 Alpha Road, Greenwich, Ohio, 44837. Funeral services will be on Monday, January 11, 2016 at 9:30 AM at Country View Mennonite Church, on Crum Road, Shiloh with the home ministry officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
