Donna Mae Yarman

Donna Mae Yarman, of Shelby, died Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at Brethren Care Nursing Center in Ashland just a few days short of her 92 birthday.

Donna was born on March 18, 1921 in Shelby, the daughter of the late Ross and Della (Mellick) Fair. She was a 1939 graduate of Shelby High School and worked for Miami Systems in Shelby, retiring in 1983 after 28 years of service. Donna was a member of First Lutheran Church in Shelby and its Miriam Circle. She also taught Sunday school for many years. She enjoyed fishing, mushroom hunting, golfing, and following the Cleveland Indians with her late husband, Rodney. Donna truly loved her family and cherished spending time with them.

Donna is survived by: a daughter: Sally (Dean) Howerton of Shelby; a son: Bill (Donna) Yarman of Ontario; 6 grandchildren and their families: Kathy (Steve) Ventre and their children Corinne, Anna, and Joseph of Kings Mills, OH, Laura (Curt) Roe of Bucyrus, Greg (Michelle) Yarman of Upper Arlington, OH, Rob (Lori) Howerton and their children Emily and Elizabeth of Green, OH, Kelly (Kris) Shaffer and their children Miranda and Dylan of Shelby, Tracy Howerton of Nashville, TN; 3 step great grandchildren: Jason (Ashley) Roe and their children Ethan and Ella, Craig (Julie) Roe, Mitchell Roe; 3 sisters-in-law: Mary Alice Shaffer, Evy (Ralph) Sabey, Mick (Dick) Friebel. She was preceded in death by her husband: Rodney Leigh Yarman on August 29, 2005; a great granddaughter: Erin Leigh Howerton; a brother: Harold Fair; a sister: Doris Fair.

Friends are welcome on Friday, March 15, 2013 from 5-8 PM at the Turner Funeral Home, 168 West Main Street, Shelby where funeral services will be conducted on Saturday at 1 PM with Pastor Russell Yoak officiating. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery in Shelby. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Lutheran Church in Shelby, Brethren Care in Ashland, or Hospice of North Central Ohio.
