Donald E. “Don” Stevens

Donald E. “Don” Stevens, age 68, of Crestline, died Thursday, February 14, 2019 at Avita Galion Hospital.

Don was born February 19, 1950 in Mansfield to the late Juanita (Eaton) and Donald E. Stevens, Sr.  and was a 1968 graduate of Lexington High School. Don had worked at Mansfield Electrical Supply in Ontario for 18 years prior to working as a maintenance supervisor at Richland Correctional Institute. He was employed at RiCI for 6 years prior to retirement in 2003.

Don was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Crestline and was also a member of the Crestline Eagles. He loved cars- both working on them and racing them. He also thoroughly enjoyed music. He had a passion for collecting albums, having over 10,000, had played bass in a band, and was proud to have attended the original Woodstock music festival.

Don is survived by his wife of nearly 43 years, Vickie L. (Hudson) Stevens, whom he married on April 24, 1976. Also surviving are 2 daughters: Kara Stevens of Mississippi and Elizabeth Lieb (fiancé, Kris Fagg) of Crestline; 3 grandchildren: David A. Lieb, Kayleigh C. Lieb, and Sir Ellihue Blackwell, III; a sister: Pamela “Penny” (Chuck) Miller of Westerville; and a half-sister: Diane Ritter of Mansfield. His parents predecease him.

At Don’s request, no calling hours or funeral services will be observed. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.
