Dean and his wife, Grace, faithfully delivered Meals on Wheels from 1987-2014. He was a member of Branch 118 of the National Association of Letter Carriers and was a former member of the Union Grange. Dean attended Richland Church of the Brethren in Mansfield.
Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Evelyn Grace (Hollenbaugh) Artz, whom he wed on Christmas Eve, 1950. Also surviving are: 3 children: Lora (James) Wiedmayer of Saline, Michigan, Jerry (Adrienne) Artz of Gainesville, FL, and Jim Artz of Shelby; 6 grandchildren, 6 step grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and 10 step great grandchildren; a sister: Nancy (Charlie) Lantz of Wooster; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and numerous friends. At Dean’s request, there will be no calling hours. Graveside services at Little London Cemetery will be announced at a later date.
