David Dean Worthington

David Dean Worthington, age 78, of Shelby, died Friday, August 15, 2014 at OhioHealth Grant Medical Center in Columbus.

David was born August 16, 1935 in Willard, the son of the late Rollin G. and Evelyn E. (Croushaw) Worthington. He was a 1956 graduate of Shelby High School and retired from the Air National Guard at Mansfield Lahm Airport in 1990 after 30 years of service. He enjoyed boating and camping.

David is survived by: 2 nephews: Steve Worthington of Florida, Paul Worthington of Lucas; a niece: Stephanie Fox of Georgia; 2 great nephews: William and Sammy Fox; aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father in 1992, his mother in 1998, and a brother, Rollin “Bill” Worhtington in 2010.

Private graveside services will be held at Oakland Cemetery in Shelby with military honors.  Care for David and his family is being provided by Bob, Catherine, and Jake at the Turner Funeral Home, 168 West Main Street, Shelby.

    Worked with David for many years at the Air National Guard. He was an excellent worker. What ever he did was always right. Will miss you Sgt. Worthington!
