Daniel Joseph “Muskie” Rietschlin

Daniel Joseph Rietschlin, 62, of Mansfield, died Monday Aug. 14, 2017 at Ohio Health Riverside Methodist Hospital. He was born July 1, 1955 in Shelby the son of the late Robert John and Eleanor Theresa (Allwine) Rietschlin.
Dan was a 1973 graduate of Buckeye Central High School in New Washington and Pioneer Joint Vocational School. He was a former employee of The Ohio Seamless Tube Co. in Shelby and Bay World International in Mansfield. He was a talented wood worker who made beautiful furniture. He was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Bethlehem.
He is survived by his 8 siblings: John (Donna) Rietschlin of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, Tom (Deb) Rietschlin of Tiro, Jane (Greg) Butler of Galion, Nick (Meg) Rietschlin of Crestline, Mike (Mary) Rietschlin of Shiloh, Luke (Cheryl) Rietschlin of Crestline, Mary (Shell) (Guy) Ferraiuolo of Doylestown, OH, Betsy (Jake) Tijerina of Kent, OH. Also surviving are numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends and family are welcome on Thursday, August 17, 2017 from 6-8 PM at the Turner Funeral Home, 168 W. Main St., Shelby, where the Rosary will be recited at 8 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 10:30 AM at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, 5742 St Rt. 61, Shelby with Fr. Chris Bohnsack officating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
