Clara M. Gamble

Clara M. Gamble, age 91, of Shelby, died Monday, November 26, 2018 at her home.

She was born June 29, 1927 in Shelby the daughter of the late Anthony and Santa (Vicintini) Caporini. After the early death of her mother, her father married Anna (Bertacco) Caporini who raised her. Clara was a 1945 graduate of Shelby High School. She worked at the Fashion Shop and Style Shop both in Shelby and Lazarus in Ontario.

Clara was a member of Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church and the Shelby Eagles. She enjoyed shopping and working outside, especially mowing, planting flowers, and being in her garden. She loved spending time with her family and doing anything social as she thoroughly enjoyed people.

Clara is survived by her 3 daughters: Toni (Gary) Watson, Debra Myers, Julie Ginter all of Shelby; 4 Grandchildren: Mike (Angie) Workman, Julie (John) Clawson, Jamie (Jenifer) Godby, Nicole (Billy) Hartge; 6 great grandchildren: Ashley Workman, Zada Marquis, Joe Clawson, Emily Clawson, Madison Godby, Brock Hartge; 1 great great grandson: River Montgomery; Numerous nieces and nephews.

On January 22, 1947, Clara married Delbert M. “Deb” Gamble and he preceded her in death on September 10, 2004. Also preceding her in death were a sister, Gloria Lewis; 4 brothers, John, Dino, Bruno, and Evaldo Caporini.

Family and friends are welcome on Wednesday, November 28, 2018 from 5-7 PM at the PENWELL TURNER FUNERAL HOME, 168 West Main Street, Shelby where a rosary will be recited at 7 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, November 29, 2018 at 1:30 PM at Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church with Father Chris Mileski officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
