Christine Perry

Christine Perry, age 73, of Mansfield, went to be with the Lord on Friday, December 7, 2018 at OhioHealth Riverside Methodist Hospital.

Christine was born June 30, 1945 in Carter County, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Edward and Effie (Clark) Knipp. She was a true follower of Christ, reading her bible and praying daily. She was an active member of Bellmont Community Church and was always involved in anything the church needed. She loved to sing no matter the place or occasion, but especially at church. She was a loving and caring wife, mother, and grandmother.

On August 5, 1960, Christine married Monty G. Perry and he survives. Also surviving are 4 sons: Dale (Jeaneen) Perry of Shelby, Ed (Rene’) Perry of Mansfield, Eric (Rebecca) Perry of Mansfield, and Phillip (Keely) Perry of Tiro; a son-in-law: Bill Wolbaugh of Shelby; 10 grandchildren: Cassandra Conklin, Joshua Perry, Heather (Joe) Romero, Isaac (Moriah) Perry, Jessica Bursley, Erica Brown, Christian Perry, Collin Perry, Jonathan (Claire) Hoffman, and Jacob Hoffman; 8 great grandchildren; 3 sisters: Mima Brinegar, Evelyn (Bob) Shepherd, and Irene (Don) Boebel; and a brother-in-law: Don Shepherd.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter: Angela A. “Angie” Wolbaugh in 2016 and siblings: twins, Ronnie and Bonnie, Clyster, Curtis, Woodrow, Lillian, Marie, Virginia, Eileen, Lorraine, and Selma.

Family and friends are welcome on Tuesday, December 11, 2018 from 4-7 pm at the PENWELL TURNER FUNERAL HOME, 168 West Main Street, Shelby, where funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, December 12, 2018 at 10:30 am. Pastor Hank Webb will officiate with assistance from Rev. O. Douglas Tackett, Pastor Earl Tackett, and Rev. Gary Lambert and burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

    Great loss. Growing up she was like a mother to me. We lived across the fence from the Perry’s and my dear brother Chad and always felt like family. She never let us go without a meal or anything for that matter.
