Cheryl Ann Mapes

Cheryl Ann Mapes, age 60, of Mansfield, died early Friday morning, September 27, 2019 at the Arbors at Mifflin.

Cheryl was born October 29, 1958 in Mansfield to the late Leon and Marjorie (Pickens) Sipes. She was a 1977 graduate of Madison High School. Cheryl had been employed at Richland Newhope Industries and was a home health care provider. She was an excellent care giver who was well loved by her patients and their families, constantly being requested back to continue care. She was an avid gardener who loved roses and houseplants, enjoyed hummingbirds and dogs, craved chocolate ice cream and coffee, and, above all else, cherished every moment spent with her grandsons.

Cheryl was a kindhearted person who will be missed by her son: Shaun Michael (Jennifer) Mapes of Mansfield; grandsons: Dylan and Logan Mapes; siblings: Gary Sipes, David (Tammy) Sipes, Jackie (Sandy) Dill, Marlene (Bob) Yant, Cheryl (Jeff) Farrone, Tom (Rose) Harvey, Sharon (John) Eldridge, and Garland (Jen) Harvey, Jr.; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, her brother, Steven Sipes, preceded her in death.

Family and friends are welcome on Monday, September 30, 2019 from 6-8 pm at the Penwell Turner Funeral Home, 168 West Main Street, Shelby, where funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 1, 2019 at 10:30 am. Rev. Dr. Edna Stahl will officiate the services and burial will follow in Oak Grove Memorial Park in Lexington.
