Charlotte Ann (Winely) Grove

Charlotte Ann (Winely) Grove, age 79, of Shelby, died early Wednesday morning, March 24, 2021 at OhioHealth Doctors Hospital in Columbus. Although her most recent illness was brief and unexpected, her life journey with Multiple Sclerosis was one fought with bravery and strength.

Charlotte was born January 11, 1942 in Greenwich to the late Floyd and Florence (Jewell) Winely. She was a 1960 graduate of Shelby High School. Charlotte worked as a receptionist for Dr. Cross and then for many years at Dr. McHugh’s office from where she retired. She thoroughly loved the patients and caring for them. Charlotte loved watching nature, especially the birds. She enjoyed craft making, sewing, knitting, and had attended lots of craft shows over the years. Charlotte was a longtime member of Auburn Baptist Church in Tiro.

Survivors include her children: Angie Lehman of Shelby and David A. (Missi) Grove of Bucyrus; grandchildren: Kathy Lehman of Shelby, Hannah (Josh) Woods of Rock Hill, SC, and Chloe Grove of Shelby; great-granddaughters: Georgia and Eliza Grove; sister in laws: Carol Winely and Carol French; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. In addition to her parents, Charlotte was preceded in death by her son-in-law: Gary Lehman; and brothers: Charles Winely, Dr. Carl Winely, Gerald Winely, and Joe Winely.

The family would like to say a special thank you to her daily health care provider and fellow card shark, Ray Kovack, for her dedication, excellent care, and friendship throughout the years.
